Terms of service

Tile Orders

  1. Please inspect the goods upon delivery or pick-up. Gem Stones (the company) assumes no responsibility for the product after cutting or installation.
  2. The purchaser may not cancel orders without authorization from the company. Orders cannot be cancelled after they have been shipped or packed for shipping.
  3. Returns may be accepted within 30 days for unopened and undamaged goods only. Special order items may not be returned. We reserve the right to refuse returns.
  4. The purchaser is responsible for arranging freight/transportation of goods to be returned.
  5. A handling charge of 25% will be applied to accepted returns.
  6. For accepted returns, the company at their discretion, may exchange the goods, provide store credit or return the amount paid for the goods less any handling and shipping charges.
  7. The purchaser is responsible for determining whether any product is suited for any particular installation or purpose.
  8. All product dimensions are approximate and may have nominal variations. All product specifications such weight are approximate.
  9. The company is not responsible for inherent colour variations in natural stone products.

Counter-Top Orders

  1. Gem Stones Inc. (the company) is not responsible for disposal of the existing counter-tops and materials. Any disposal of items may be subject to additional charges. Job sites outside of the Greater Toronto Area may be subject to transportation charges. The company is not responsible for any plumbing, electrical or cabinet work required.
  2. The quoted price is subject to change due to variations between the final measurements taken by the company and the measurements provided by the customer.
  3. A 50% deposit is required for all jobs, with balance payment due once the counter-top is installed. Jobs involving a full backsplash require 30% payment following the counter-top installation and the balance payment of 20% to be paid once the backsplash is installed.
  4. For products with a warranty, the customer is responsible for registering the warranty with the supplier of the stone or surface. The company is not responsible for filing warranty claims on products that fail to meet the statements made by the suppliers or manufacturers.
  5. All counter-tops remain the property of the company until paid for in full. The company is not responsible for any remnant slab pieces 30 days after the date of installation.
  6. The company is not responsible for delays or cancellations due to causes beyond its reasonable control.
